Douglas A. Troutman, 58, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021.

Doug was a faithful husband to his wife Lorraine Troutman (nee Foster) and a loving father to Bonnie Carpenter. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph, Sr. and Elizabeth Troutman. Doug was a devoted brother to his siblings Ralph Troutman, Jr., (late) Wayne Troutman (Dawn), Wesley Troutman (Cindy), Kathleen Eaton (Bill, Sr.), Larry Troutman, Beverly Westover (Terry), and Beth Yeager (Warren, Jr.). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Douglas Troutman on Friday, March 5, 2021 at John F. Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home 3301 Cottman Ave., Phila, Pa 19149 from 10-12pm. A graveside service will follow at North Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5800 Frankford Ave. Phila, PA 19124 at 12:30pm.

Claire V. Rollinson (nee Peberdy), 59, passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 23, 2021.

Claire was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. She worked for Philadelphia Park and recreation for 20 years. She loved doing her ceramics and everything she made in ceramics was specially picked for someone she knew. She loved taking care of kids and just making sure they were okay. Whether looking out for the neighborhood kids or taking care of the after-school kids, day camp. Claire loved watching her kids and being there at every single event they had! Her kids were her everything and they were her life. Claire loved being by the pool in the summer and being in the sun. Now she has moved past the sun and can rest ever so peaceful with her loved ones on the other side.

Catherine Gaffney (nee Sachs), 100, born on January 28, 1921, longtime resident of Mayfair, and North Haven, Connecticut passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband William Gaffney. She was a loving mother to her 3 daughters Maureen Johnstone (Late Bill), Kathleen Cahill (Tom), Elaine Schaeffer (Ed); Mom-mom to Bill Johnstone (Jen), Mike Johnstone (Sara), Kelli Johnstone; Jen Rutkowski (Don); Ed and Tim Schaeffer (Paula). Catherine was a proud great mom-mom to Julianne, Jaclyn, Emma, Luke, Ben, Will, Sophia, and Donnie. Sister to the Late John Sachs (Late Phyllis) and Patricia McCloskey (Late Emmet).

Services for Catherine Gaffney will be held privately by her family.

Michael A Galdi, age 66, of Philadelphia, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

Michael was the loving father of (late) Stephen M. Galdi; and preceeded in death by his parents, Anthony D. & Nancy M. Galdi. Loving brother and friend to his sister, Nancy Galdi Levash. Proud uncle of Nicole Sutton (Vincent) and adoring Great Uncle to 11-week old baby George. Michael leaves behind many extended loving family members, friends and business associates.  He was a loyal friend to many that he considered family.

Irene Cawley (nee Egan) of Mayfair passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2021 at age 83.

Irene Cawley was the devoted wife of 40 years to her husband (late)John Cawley. Irene was the beloved mother of Phyllis, John(Rachel), and Denise Cawley; proud grandmom of Eleanorlynn, Daniel, and Gwendolyn Cawley. She is survived by her brother Lawrence Egan(Margaret), and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family, who will all miss her dearly.

Phyllis, John, Rachel and Denise want to thank everyone for everything.  Coming here today and last night if you could.  The flowers, the food, the memories.  Everything. 

Mom, Irene, Grendmom, really lived quite an amazing life.  She touched so many people and they were all the better because of her. 

Nancy D. Whartnaby(nee Driscoll), 61, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Nancy was the beloved wife of Robert Whartnaby for 35 years. She was a loving mother to Lori Desher(Robert) and Molly Whartnaby. Future grandmother of Jack Desher.

Nancy was predeceased by her father John Driscoll. She is survived by her mother Dolores(nee Rudolph) and her 4 brothers Jack(Tracey), James(Barbara), David(Lisa), and Michael Driscoll. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who will all miss her dearly. Nancy loved spending time at the casinos, playing bingo, and going down the shore.


Maryann Rizzo, 90, passed away on February 14, 2021.

Maryann was the devoted wife of Ellis Rizzo, loving mother of Darlene Misko (late Raymond), Antonio Rizzo (Karen), (late) Victoria Hodge (Francis), (late) Jodie Rizzo, and Lottie Rizzo. Maryann was a proud grandmother of Holly McClelland (Robert); Gina Reiss (Matt); (late )Jodi and (late) Darlene Hodge; Jennifer Holmes (Mark Herzog), Victoria Candelaria (Nathanel). She was also a great grandmother to Alexandria, Olivia; Matt, Max; Damien; Nathaniel, and Gabriel.

Services for Maryann Rizzo are being held privately by her family. An interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.


Joseph M. McCarey, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Joseph was the beloved husband of his wife Dorothy McCarey (nee Malloy) for 62 years. Loving father to (late)Harry McCarey (Joan), Dorothy Stipa(Michael), Joseph M. McCarey, Jr. (Denise), and Colleen McCarey. He was a proud grandfather to Michael (Melissa) and Stephen McCarey; Jen Snopko (Alex), Julie Stipa; Summer; Kristine McCarey. Great grandfather to Peter Snopko.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Matthew Church 3000 Cottman Ave., Phila, Pa 19149 from 9:15-10:15 am. Mass to follow at 10:30 am; an interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Dolores R. Palys (nee Wawroski), 95, passed away on Thursday February 11, 2021.

Dolores was a devoted wife to (late)John J. Palys for 60 years. She was the beloved mother of Geri Paulits (Ken), (late) Larry Palys, and Christine Stefankiewicz (John). Dolores was loving Nana to Eric Palys, Sr.; John Palys (Kate); Christopher (Lynette) and Adam Stefankiewicz. She was also a proud great grandmother to Eric, Jr. and Ella.

Dolores was a life long resident of North East Philadelphia.  She met her husband John in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.   They married and moved to Tyson Avenue.  Dolores lived on Tyson Avenue for 69 years where she raised her family and cared for her grandsons. 

She loved her home in Mayfair. Dolores was always smiling.  She was quick to share her Nescafe coffee or hot tea when you came to visit her.  She will be greatly missed, remembered and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday February 16, 2021 at St. Matthew’s Church 3000 Cottman Ave., Phila, Pa 19149 from 9:15-10:15am. Mass to follow at 10:30am; an interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to St. Matthew’s Sanctuary Fund at the above address.

Vernice M. Paolella, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Vernice was a devoted wife to Michael Paolella for 60 years until his passing in 2012. She was the beloved mother of Michele Watkins, Tina McElvarr (Richard), and (late) Peter Paolella. Vernice was a proud grandmother of Gregory Watkins (Katy); Stephanie McGoldrick (Brian), Nicholas Patras (Stephanie); the late Michael Paolella; and great grandmother to Branden, Blaise, Mackenzie, Gavin, Peyton, and Carson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Vernice Paolella at St. Jerome’s Church, 8100 Colfax St., Philadelphia PA 19136 on Tuesday February 16, 2021 from 9:15-10:15am. Mass to follow at 10:30am; interment at Resurrection Cemetery
