On February 5th, at the age of 45, Amy passed away with her loving family by her side. Amy was born in Philadelphia on June 21, 1979, the loving daughter of Eileen E. Jeitner. Devoted mother of Tabatha Otero (Mike Howe). Dear Memom of Peyton, Zayne and Christopher. Amy will be sadly missed by her life partner Dave Basciano and her sister Rachel E. Jensen. Amy will also be rememered for her love of dogs and the color yellow.

Services will be privately held. 

Robert R. Caprio

Robert R. Caprio of Philadelphia, passed away on February 1, 2025 at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of the late Michelle Caprio, devoted father of  Eric, Carrieanne and Robert Caprio and the late Sandra Caprio, loving grandfather of  Eric II, Nathan, Meadow, Lucas, Theodore and Heather. He is also the proud great-grandfather of one.

Robert was the brother of Ralph, Joseph, Jr.,  and Gloria.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and avid outdoorsman, loved to camp and spend time in the great outdoors and a very skilled handyman with expertise in car maintenance, electrical, plumbing and woodwork. 
 
He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. 

Raymond 'Ray"James Christie, Jr.

Raymond James Christie, Jr.

Raymond James Christie, Jr., from Byram, NJ and the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born August 15, 1940, to Raymond and Anna Christie. Raymond attended St. Matthew’s school, loved playing all CYO sports, was a proud graduate of Lasalle High School class of 1958, and was an active alumnus. He graduated from LaSalle College in 1962 with an accounting degree, while at the same time was in the ROTC and then went on to the Army Reserves. He enjoyed spending summers at grandparents’ home in Stone Harbor with cousins.

Ray was a loving husband to Beverly, whom he met on Valentine’s Day, 1988. They were engaged in 5 weeks and married for 37 years. He was a loving father to Karen (Erwin), Susan (Gary) and Maureen, a loving stepdad to Karen (Mark), Pam (Ed) and Donna. He was a devoted grandfather to Stephen, Alexa, Matthew, Nicole, Allyson, Timothy (AJ), Elizabeth (Myles), Robert, Michael, Kevin (Alyssa), Emily, Michael, Maya, Margaret and Carli, and one great grandson, Nathaniel. Survived by his brother Tom, who was his best friend, and sister-in-law Terry.

Ray was sure to make friends wherever he went, always guaranteed a good conversation and sure to fill the room with laughter. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and was always there to lend a helping hand. He never missed his grandchildren’s celebrations and events and knew all the children in the neighborhood by name. He was proud of his home, family and community. Ray was a member of St. Kateri Church in Sparta for 35 years. He loved taking his family on his pontoon boat on Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Summers on LBI, NJ was a favorite vacation spot. Ray and Beverly loved spending winters in Florida, traveled cross country, and he even found his way to China. He loved watching sports, especially his beloved Philly teams.

We are all blessed to have had Ray in our lives.

There will be a celebration of Raymond's life in New Jersey at a date to be announced.

Relatives and friends are invited to Raymond’s viewing at Saint Matthew Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149 on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:15am to 10:15am, followed by a mass there at 10:30am. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Cerebral Palsy Association of Philadelphia would be appreciated.

Ann M. Harmon


Ann Marie (Albright) Harmon
Long time resident of the Mayfair Neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA died peacefully on January 19th, 2025.
 
Beloved wife of 64 years to Ronald Harmon Sr. Ann is survived by her brother, Charles Albright.

Beloved Mother to Ronald Jr. (Marilyn), James (Patricia), Peter (Suzanne), and Joseph (Jennifer). Beloved grandmother to Keith, Lee, Ashley, Caitlin, Michael, Christopher, Jonathan, Nicholas, Sarah and Emily. Beloved great-grandmother to Luke and Lathan and many nieces and nephews.
 
Ann was born, raised and lived in Mayfair her entire life where she was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Timothy’s R.C. Church. Ann was very dedicated to her family, neighbors and parish. She was active in Father Judge H.S. Mother’s Club from 1976 to 1991 where she served on various committees. Ann enjoyed the N.J. Shore, especially Atlantic City and Sea Isle City where she and her husband vacationed often. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends and greatly enjoyed the luncheons and dinner parties that happened on a regular basis. Ann was a very jovial and compassionate woman who always took the time to talk with others and gave of her time freely. A loving neighbor and a friend to all. She will truly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing, 9:15 to 10:15 am Saturday, February 1, 2025, followed by her 10:30 mass at St. Timothy Church, 3001 Levick St, Philadelphia, PA 19149. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Kathryn A. Judge


A woman of faith and proud matriarch of the McGlinchey family passed away January 23, 2025, at the age of 98.

Kathryn was born November 21, 1926 to the late Thomas and the late Kathryn McGlinchey. She was predeceased by her dear daughter, Cathy McElvaney, her sister and best friend, Addie Lewis and her loving granddaughter Megan Thrash.

Kathryn was the beloved wife of Joseph Carman (43 years) and Lawrence Judge (20 years).
She is survived by her son, Joseph T. Carman (Linda), and their children Christine McCullough (Drew) Patricia Carman and Joseph C. Carman; her son-in-law, Gary McElvaney, and his children, Brian (Katrina) McElvaney, Kevin (Megan) McElvaney, Mary Kate (Patrick) Wright, and her three great granddaughters, Brie McElvaney, Maura and Addison Wright. Kathryn is also survived by many Carman nieces and nephews, Judge nieces and nephews, as well as Garberina and McGlinchey "cousins by the dozen"-all of whom she kept close in heart!

Kay worked as an administrative assistant for many years at Eaton Corp. And later at Shaare Shamayim Beth Judah, now the congregations of Shaare Shamayim.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue, on February 1 at 9:00 am-10:00am with a funeral mass to follow. Rite of commital at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations in Kathryn's name to the above-named church. Katsie leaves with love to all and the wish, "May the road rise to meet you with the sunshine always at your back!"

Rogelio Gerena

Rogelio Gerena, aka Papo, died peacefully on January 19, 2025.
 
He was a beloved husband to Mildred Gerena. A devoted father to Armando, Yvette, Nicole and Roger. The best and most loving grandfather to Ziannie, Christian, Ziarra, Jaelynn, Ricardo, Zoey, Zyellie and Zalaya.
 
Papo was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico on February 20,1950.
He attended North Catholic  High School and was drafted to the United States Army where he served in Vietnam for two years as military police.
He was a proud retiree of the United States Mint after 36 years.
 
Papo truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed music, dancing, and enjoyed playing and being silly with his grandchildren whenever he could.
 
Rogelio Gerena (Papo) was our sunshine and will truly be missed by all.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 10:00 to 11:00am Friday, Janary 24, 2025 followed by his 11:00 service at John F. Fluehr and Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149. Interment will take place at Greenmount Cemetery after the service.

Leo F. Bulman, Jr.

Leo Francis (Lee) Bulman, Jr., departed this life on January 17, 2025 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 80 years old.

Born in Philadelphia on April 21, 1944, he was the son of Leo F. Bulman, Sr. and Anna Marie Youell Bulman.
Lee joined the Marine Corp in January 1964 and served his country in active duty until January 1967. During this enlistment he served in the Vietnam conflict.

He is survived by his four children – Brian, Missy, Theresa, and Matt, as well as his brother Richard and four grandchildren (Marlee, Jack, Connor and SaiDan). The family wishes to thank the staff at the VA Medical Center for the outstanding care and patience shown to Lee during his final years of life.

Lee’s funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 28 at Saint Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, preceded by visitation starting at 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.

Angel Vargas, III

Angel Vargas, III, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2025, at the age of 51.

Beloved husband of Heather Vargas and the devoted father of Elaina, Alivia, Mariah, Selena, Isabel, Riley and Angel Vargas.

Angel was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 28, 1973, to Laura Vargas and the late Angel Vargas, Jr.

Being born and raised in Philadelphia, Angel, was a die-hard EAGLES fan. He had the purest smile and proudly showcased his Philly pride.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a love of boxing, fishing, riding his motorcycle and cooking. But his real passion and talents were singing and drawing.

Angel was a man of God and loved all his children dearly. He was blessed with many friends, but his best friends were his mother, his sister Cherie, his brother Marcus and his wife Heather.

He is also survived by his sisters Lissette and Amanda, his brother Damian, nephew Ronald Jr. and his nieces Angel and Mia.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial gathering Friday, January 24, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm with a 7 p.m. service at John F. Fluehr and Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149.

Joan Marie Melnichuk

Joan Melnichuk passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at the age of 88. 

 Joan is survived by her husband Joseph whom she loved dearly for 62 years; three children: Joan Melnichuk, Joseph Melnichuk, and Theresa (Dennis) Fortuna, grand-babies Dennis J and Elise, and many nieces and nephews. 

 Joan was born and raised in Philadelphia to the late James E. and Rachel M. McFadden (nee Henhaffer). She was the oldest of five siblings: Therese, James, Edward, and Joseph McFadden. She grew up in Kensington where she attended St. Joan of Ark Grade School and Little Flower High School. Her and her husband Joe bought a house in Mayfair in 1967.  There she raised her three wonderful children and resided there until her passing. She worked for Sears and Roebuck for 25 plus years until retirement age. Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband, the casinos, gameshows on the tv, and keeping the pantry full for her grand-babies. Joan was a generous and outgoing person and will be greatly missed. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing at 9:15-10:15 a.m. followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at St. Matthew Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, 19149.  Rite of Committal Resurrection Cemetery.

William Patrick Walsh Jr.

William Patrick Walsh Jr.
February 27, 1952 – January 14, 2025
 
William Patrick Walsh, lovingly known as Bill, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in Abington, PA, at the age of 72. Born on February 27, 1952, in Philadelphia, he was the son of William Patrick Walsh, Sr. and Mary McDonough.
 
Bill devoted his life to his family and his work, spending many dedicated years at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He was a loyal friend, a devoted husband to his wife, Carol Sopinski Walsh, and a proud father to Kelly, Michael, and Becky. He adored his grandchildren, Kiera, Michael, Mia, and Ava, who were the light of his life.
 
A lifelong Philadelphian, Bill was the biggest Eagles fan, cheering for his team through every high and low. He will always be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering commitment to providing for his family, and the love he showed to those around him.
 
Bill is survived by his siblings: Rose, Katie, and Jimmy, along with numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, twin brother Michael, Sue, and Franny but leaves behind a legacy of love and loyalty.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, January 18, 2025,  2:00 pm. Followed by a 3:00 pm celebration of Bill’s life at John F Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19149. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
