Robert Bruce Forrest, 58, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 5, 2025, in his hometown. Born on September 26, 1967, in Philadelphia, Robert spent his entire life in the city he loved and served with unwavering dedication.
For four decades, Robert worked at Tastykake, beginning as a young man and steadily rising through the ranks to become a respected supervisor. His journey through many departments was marked not only by hard work and perseverance but also by the warmth and kindness he extended to everyone he met. Known for his ever-present smile and genuine care for others, Robert treated every colleague—regardless of title or background—with equal respect. He was truly a people person whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.
Robert’s generosity knew no bounds. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation and never sought recognition for his countless acts of kindness. His selflessness was not performative—it was simply who he was. Whether ensuring someone had what they needed or offering a listening ear, Robert made it his mission to take care of others with no expectations in return.
Outside of work, Robert found peace and inspiration in nature. A passionate outdoorsman, he cherished every opportunity to go fishing during the summer months. He also had a remarkable talent for woodworking and art skills that reflected both his creativity and patience. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of his deep appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship.
Above all else, Robert was devoted to his family. He was an extraordinary husband to Michelle Forrest, a loving father to Robert Forrest Jr. (Isabel) and Christine Wissmann (Andrew), and a magical poppop to Chase Wissmann and Olga Forrest. His love extended beyond immediate family to include his sisters Sue Stein (Mike) and Regina Seislove; brother Richie Forrest; mother Regina Forrest; father Donald Forrest; niece Shan Sohn; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Robert’s memory is also cherished by those who knew him through his late brother Donnie Forrest (Donna) and late brother-in-law Ed Seislove.
To know Robert was to witness true human kindness in action. He lit up every room he entered with warmth, humor, and compassion. The world feels dimmer without him—a real-life angel whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of what it means to live with love, humility, and grace.
