Frances T. Hayburn

Frances T. Hayburn (nee Fee), age 82, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Fran was the devoted wife of James; loving mother of Theresa M. SSJ, John G. (Teri), Jim, David (Christa), Jean Marie, and Stephen (Cheryl Miller). She was the sister of the late Rita Fee, Catharine Fee, SSJ, and Mary Fee, SSJ. She is also sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Annie, Jimmy, Patrick, Joseph, and Luke of Bowie, MD; Christopher, Nicholas, and Abigail of Philadelphia; and Liana, Jaelynn, and Andrew also of Philadelphia.

The fourth and youngest daughter of John and Rita Fee, she was born on October 3, 1940. She grew up in Our Mother of Sorrows Parish and was a proud graduate of West Catholic Girls’ High School, Class of 1958. She attended Misericordia School of Nursing with a scholarship graduating with her Diploma of Nursing in 1961.

She married Jim Hayburn in 1966 and raised their family in Saint Matthew Parish, Mayfair, Northeast Philadelphia for the next 57 years. Unable to attend Mass in person during the pandemic, she and Jim tuned in by computer every Sunday. It was their only facebook foray!

Victoria A. Kucowski-Zengolewicz

On May 30th at the age of 44. Loving daughter of James and Barbara Driscoll.

Victoria was the devoted mother of Logan A. Zengolewicz. Dear sister of James Driscoll and Granddaughter of Dolores Driscoll. Victoria is also survived by her nephew Connor Driscoll and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Victoria's Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 5th at 10:30AM at St. George Catholic Church, located at 2700 E. Venango St, Philadelphia, PA 19134. Where a viewing will be held from 9AM-10:30AM. The interment will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Vincent J. Hallman

Vincent J Hallman on May 25, 2023 at the age of 93.

Vincent was born on Feb 5, 1930 at home in Philadelphia. He was the youngest of 11 children of William Samuel Hallman and Alice M (Walsh) Hallman.

Vince attended St. Veronica's Elementary School and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in 1948.

He worked as a meat packer in Philadelphia for many years. He was a member of St. Veronica's and later Resurrection until he moved to Regina Nursing Center/Markley Rehab.

Vincent was predeceased by his loving parents and all of his siblings and is survived by his loving nieces and nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Vincent's Funeral Services on Wednesday, May 31st, at 10:30am located at John F. Fluehr and Sons Funeral Home 3301 Cottman Ave. Phila. PA. 19149. Where a viewing will begin at 9:30am. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.

Caroline M. Kachur

Caroline M. Kachur On May 23, 2023 at the age of 91

Loving wife of the late Nicholas Kachur. Devoted mother of Nick Kachur (Diana) and Michael Kachur. Beloved sister of the late Joseph Pinto. Dear grandmother of Allison Lebeda (Matthew), Matthew Kachur (Erika), Genna Kachur and Brian Kachur. Great grandmother of four and also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Caroline grew up in Scranton where she was very close with her oldest brother (Joseph Pinto). Her family moved to South Philadelphia, where she graduated from West Philly High. After she married Nick Kachur, May 22,1954 she started a family of her own!

Caroline was a devoted Catholic, went to church, and kids were alter boys while growing up.
Worked 30+ years for the Archdiocese and enjoyed her time working for Milton Shapp.

Caroline was very Family oriented. She was the main caregiver for her mother when she was ill. She went on yearly vacations with the family, and they enjoyed their time down the shore and up the mountains.

After the passing of her husband, she moved south to help care for her oldest grandchildren (Allison & Matthew). Then with the birth of 4th grandchild moved back to Philadelphia to help care for her youngest grandchildren (Genna & Brian).

Hedwig T. Sroczyk

Hedwig (Hedy) T. Sroczyk, age 85, died on May 14, 2023. She was a resident of the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia for the past 58 years. She was the devoted wife of the late Sgt. John F. Sroczyk (USAF) for 52 years.
Born on October 11, 1937 in Bialystok, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Leon Dunaj and the late Sabina Fedorowicz Dunaj.

She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Hedy retired from St. Matthews Elementary School in 2016, after 25+years having worked as a lunch mother.

She was a member of St. Matthew’ Church for 58 years.

She is survived by her loving sons; Jeffrey T. Sroczyk (wife Susan) and Stephen M. Sroczyk; sister, Christine Zalewski (husband Joseph); brother-in-law Joseph Sroczyk (wife Arlene); two grandchildren Jacob Gallagher (wife Meghan) and Jesse Gallagher and by two great-grandchildren; Hunter and Declan.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Monday, May 22, 2023, The Cemetery Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA, where relatives and friends will be received from noon until the time of the mass. Interment will be in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery.

Joseph R. Taylor

On May 9th, 2023 at the age of 77. Joe was the loving husband of Ann Taylor (nee Zuschmidt). Joe was the devoted father of Jennifer Cullen (Jim), Joseph Taylor (Heather), Katie Whalen (Tom), Liz Taylor (Chris), Rick Hesson, Brenda Garber (Harry) and Dori Sullivan (Bryan). Joe was the dear brother of Lorraine Stagliano (Joe). Joe will be sadly missed by his 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Timmy J. McLaughlin

Of Mayfair, at the age of 56, on May 4th, 2023, with his family by his side. Son of James and Patricia McLaughlin. Dear father of Marykate and Peyton McLauglin. Devoted brother of Jim, Jeanie Iuliucci (Gary), and Ian McLaughlin. Uncle to Joey, Coleen, Jeanie Rose Iuliucci. Timmy was also survived by many cousins and friends.

Clarice Patricia Brosius

Clarice Patricia Brosius, age 87, a resident of the Academy Gardens of Philadelphia for the past 61 years and formerly of the Juniata Park Neighborhood of Philadelphia, died on April 26, 2023.She was the loving and devoted wife of the late John G. Brosius for 55 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA Clarice was the daughter of the late Stanley Grochoski and the late Helen R. Remarcz. She graduated from Little Flower High School.

She was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and great-grandmother.

She was a member of St. Jerome’s Church since 1962 and was a member of their prayer group.

She enjoyed drawing, shopping, cooking, baking and decorating.

She is survived by her children and their partners; daughter Patricia A. “Patty” Sklodowski and her husband, Daniel Sklodowski and son Kevin S. Brosius and his partner, Arlene Haywood; four grandchildren Daniel Sklodowski and his wife Lauren Sklodowski, a great-grandchild Mason Sklodowski. Sean Sklodowski, Brooke O’Hare, Nathaniel O’Hare and by her sister, Sabina Marley along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Grochoski and by her sister, Geraldine Stavenger.

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, John F. Fluehr & Sons, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, St. Jerome’s Church, 8100 Colfax Street, Philadelphia, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.

Craig W. Bickings, Jr.

Craig W. Bickings, Jr On April 13, 2023, with his family by his side, Craig departed from this life at the age of 50.

Craig, the loving husband of Bernice E. Bickings (nee Goodyear), was the devoted father of Craig III, Nigel, Kolby (Hannah Foster), Dimitri, Quentin, Everett, and Natasha. He was the beloved son of the late Craig Sr. and the late Roberta Bickings and the dear brother of Robin Lucas (Scott), Jason, Roy, Bryan, Debby Troutman, Kevin (Audrey), Robert (Kym), and Harold Wesley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Craig was the consummate family man - a devoted husband and father and a beloved uncle and friend. His love for his family was not limited to blood relation but shown out to all those around him. During family vacations, he often could combine his love for his family with his passion for fishing. From sun-up to sun-down, he could be seen on the beach with a rod in his hand, content in the company of his loved ones and the ocean.

John E. “Jack” Tatum

John E. “Jack” Tatum, age 71, a resident of Ridly Park, PA died on April 10, 2023. He previously resided in West Chester, PA, Malvern, PA, Norwood, PA and Philadelphia, PA. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Tobias.

Born in Darby, PA, Jack was the son of the late Ellis Birch “Buck” Tatum and the late Lillian Collins Tatum. He graduated from Interboro High School.
Jack’s entire 30-year career was with Verizon, formerly Bell Atlantic and Bell of PA. He retired as Claims Investigator. In earlier years, he held the positions of Splicer, Lineman and Supervisor.

He loved riding his Moto Guzzi motorcycles. He was proud to volunteer his time with his favorites: “Guzzios”, “Mona” and “Evie” at The Butterfly Run in Malvern, PA and at other charitable events. He was an avid fan and supporter of the professional Philadelphia sports teams. He attended the Flyers Stanley Cup Celebration in 1974, the Phillies World Series Parade in 2008 and the Eagles Super Bowl Parade in 2018. He loved music, especially Rock n Roll and the Blues.
Jack was gifted with the ability to fix things; especially cars, motorcycles, boats, appliances and anything in his home that needed repair. He enjoyed cooking, food and wine and was a member of the American Wine Society. Additionally, he enjoyed touring Chincoteague Bay.
