Michael F. Biddle, Sr.

Michael F. Biddle Sr., of Philadelphia, passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 72. He was born to the late Elmer and Evelyn Biddle on September 27,1952. Michael, the beloved husband to Patricia (nee Szymczak) Biddle, the devoted father to Michael F. Biddle Jr (Colleen), Breanne Biddle, and Brandon Biddle (Janina), the loving Grandfather to Alexis (Jim), Dylan, Payton, Haleigh, Joey, and Jordan.  He is also survived by his great grandchild, Olivia. His brother Kenneth Biddle (Carole Sue), and his late sister Evelyn Clements, his nephews Michael, Christopher, CJ and his nieces Carole Sue, Corrine, and Caitlyn.

Michael grew up in the section of Juniata. He was a proud graduate of Frankford high school. He went on to become a philadelphia police officer in 1974 where he would spend the next 18 years of his career. He loved his time being an officer and took pride in serving his city. 

Michael also had a love for sports- specifically soccer and golf. Michael spent a bulk of his time coaching soccer at Roman High School. He was so proud to be involved in such a great organization and he was respected and loved by the staff and players.

Michael also loved to play golf during his free time. He would routinely take trips with family and friends to go golfing every year.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 8:30 to 10:15 am, followed by a 10:30 mass at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church

Josephine M. Aloisi

JOSEPHINE M. ALOISI (nee Ippoliti), age 86 of Bustleton passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024.  She was surrounded by her children and passed on what would have been her late husband Joe’s 87th birthday. 

Josephine was born in South Philadelphia and was a member of St. Monica’s parish.  When she was a child, her family moved to Northeast Philly across the street from St. Bernard’s Church.  She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School.  After marrying her husband Joe, she moved to Mayfair where she lived until September 2021.  After selling her home, she joined the Paul’s Run Retirement Community as a resident in independent living. 

When her children began school at Ancillae Assumpta Academy in 1973, Josephine started volunteering for school events.  She became an employee and worked for Ancillae for over 25 years.  She retired in 2000 but rejoined the Ancillae community years later and officially retired in 2016.

Loving mother to Marco J. Aloisi (Maryann) and Toni C. Aloisi-Bossert (Greg).  Beloved grandmother to Michael Bossert and fur babies Lucy, Jack, Bella, Luca, Oscar, Joey, Kylo, Bosworth, Willow and Lucinda.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances LeClere (Ralph) and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph P. Aloisi; her parents, Joseph Ippoliti and Nina Ippoliti (nee Repici), and her brother, Ralph Ippoliti. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at St. Timothy Church Levick and Battersby Streets, Philadelphia, Pa 19149 followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 am. (St. Timothy’s has elevator access in the rear of the church).

Arthur J. McMaster

Arthur J. McMaster, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 91. Arthur was the loving husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" McMaster. He was the devoted father of Michael (Christy), James (Sue), Arthur, Jr., Thomas, Joseph (Ginnie) and Sean (Jennifer). Grandfather of 12 and also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Arthur was a devoted Phillies fan, loved to play golf and was a proud member of the United States Army.

Jennifer Lynn Palner





Jennifer Lynn Palner, affectionately known as Just Jenn, passed away unexpectedly on the night of September 25, 2024, at the age of 48. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Claire and Earl Vanartsdalen; her sister, Patti Hangliter (Kenny); her niece, Courtney Wojtusik (Nic); her nephew, Matthew Hangliter; and her great-nephew, Nicholas, and great-niece, Margot, along with many beloved friends and family members.

Jenn will be remembered for her sharp wit, infectious smile, and deep love for her family. A true animal lover, she shared a special bond with her dog, Harper, who will miss her dearly. Her relentless teasing and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Jenn's spirit will continue to live on in our cherished memories, and she will be profoundly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Geraldine E. Samarco

Geraldine E. Samarco, at the age of 80, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Deania was the widow of Dominic S. Samarco Jr. Loving mother of Deania, Dominic III (Debbie), Carmela Baker (David), Ricky (Denise Gilbert), Tony (Kim), and Tracy Samarco. She was also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.

Louis R. Gibson

Louis passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 82. He suffered with COPD, Diabetes & heart failure.

Louis is Survived by his wife of 12 years Maria Massaro Gibson, brother-in Law Joseph (Kathy) Massaro and his sister Carol Gibson. Louis was the son of his late Louis & Doris Gibson .

Louis was in sales for over 25 years and in his later years drove a school bus. He was a Veteran in the United States Army where he worked as a medic. He was always the first one there if help was needed. In the late 50’s he was a regular on bandstand. He also party so much he graduated 1 1/2 years after all his friends. He thought that was funny. His favorite sport was Boxing, he could tell you about all the boxing matches from way back when !! His favorite boxer was Ali. Louie was well liked and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Patricia A. Allerton

Patricia A. Allerton, of Philadelphia, passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 77.

Beloved wife of the late Reginald Allerton, Mother of Hollie (Brian) Howard and the late Scott Allerton, Grandmother of Eddie and Jennie Howard.

John J. Malloy

John J. Malloy of Mayfair, Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, John grew up in the East Falls section of the city and was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and a graduate of Temple University. He proudly served as an E5 in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Munich, Germany. He spent his career at Bell Telephone, AT&T and Lucent Technologies in sales and project management. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Lloyd Sixsmith Sporting Goods, where he made deliveries around the city. He was a member of St. Bernard parish for over 50 years.

John was devoted to his wife Mary and his family. He was larger than life, kind, generous and took an interest in everyone he met. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to school or chasing them around the house. He always enjoyed a good conversation, whether with an old friend or someone new. He could find a Roman graduate anywhere he went, and religiously attended their Communion Breakfast every year. He was fortunate enough to have an extraordinary group of neighbors who were more like family. He loved music and passed that along to his children and grandchildren. He was great at telling a story and making everyone feel welcome. We would love to hear all your stories about him.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Malloy; his sons John and Terence (Mikael) Malloy and daughter Kathleen (Andrew) Gaudio; his grandson Finnigan Nemo and granddaughters Madeline, Frankie and Raya Gaudio. He is also survived by his brother James (Patricia) Malloy and sisters Kathleen Donaghy and Margaret Dougherty; sisters-in-law Margaret McDonald, Eileen Czajkowski and Veronica (Denny) Moore; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Malloy; his brothers-in-law James Donaghy, Robert Dougherty, John McDonald and Robert Czajkowski; and his nephew William Dougherty.

There will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27, at St. Bernard RC Church, 7341 Cottage Street, Philadelphia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John’s name can be made to Autism Speaks.


John M. Briggs

John M. Briggs, formerly of Wynnewood, PA and Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024 at Waverly Heights in Gladwyne, PA from complications due to heart disease.

John was predeceased by his parents, John Briggs III and Rita M. (Weeks) Briggs of Philadelphia, PA. His brother, David A. Briggs, of Gainesville, FL, also predeceased him.

John graduated from Father Judge High School in 1968 and Lehigh University in 1972, where he was a member of Theta XI.

He was a partner in the accounting firm of Tait Weller and Baker and a founding partner of Briggs Bunting and Dougherty (BBD LLP). John served as a director on several boards including Healthcare Services Group, Inc. He was active in the Union League of Philadelphia, the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, Sons of the American Revolution, the Susan B. Komen Foundation, Planned Parenthood of Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

John will be remembered by all for his intelligence, generosity, integrity, charm and wonderful sense of humor.

There will be a gravesite service at the Oakland Cemetery, Adams Ave. and Ramona Ave., Philadelphia, PA on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:30 AM.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 PM at Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill, PA. Friends and family are invited.

Donations can be made in John’s honor to the Waverly Heights Foundation, Employee Appreciation Fund, 1400 Waverly Road, Gladwyne, PA 19035 in recognition of the patient, kind and professional care the staff provided to John every day at Waverly Heights.

William "Bill" Dickinson

Bill Dickinson, a proud US Navy Veteran and Christian, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 75. He was a man of remarkable character who brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, gentle strength, unwavering determination, and boundless curiosity. Whether through his service, his wisdom, or his quiet acts of kindness, Bill left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

 Bill was a “happy camper” who thoroughly enjoyed exploring this beautiful country with his wife and family and riding his beloved motorcycle. His fascination with technology kept him constantly learning and adapting to the times. Above all, it was his family that meant the most to him. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, pop, and neighbor who lived his life as a hero to all who knew him well.

Bill is the beloved husband of Joyce (Brown) Dickinson, the devoted father to Drew (Meredith) Dickinson and Amy (Henry Byford) Dickinson, loving Pop to Ruby, Grace and Maxwell Dickinson. He is also survived by his brothers Howard (Gwyn) Dickinson, Chuck (Anita) Dickinson and many neices and nephews.

 We invite all who cherished Bill to join us in a ceremony of remembrance at Fairless Hills United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 24th. Visitation begins at 5:00pm, followed by a service at 6:00pm where we will share stories, laughter, and tears, just as Bill would have wished. A party at Puss ‘n Boots to follow the service. A military service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 25th, at 10:15 AM, to pay tribute to his brave service to his country.
