Vincent A. Grimes Sr.

Vincent A. Grimes, Sr., loving husband of the late Eileen Grimes, passed away on March 26, 2024 at the age of 79. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his four children Vincent Grimes, Jr., Christopher Grimes (Amie), Carolee Mininger (Chuck) and Michele Grimes, 11 grandchildren (Kelsey, Vincent, Keghan, Joey, Christopher Jr., Calee, Seamus, Charley, Skylar, Molly and Macie), 8 great-grandchildren (Luke, Vincent IV, Leyla, Christopher III, Braedon, Cora, Taytum, Elaine, and #9 on the way) along with his loving friend Madeline Seiger.

While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and witty timing to others, and even a glorious pain in the neck. Our father served in the armed services as a Marine and had a successful career in the banking industry. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest role - he was also a brother-in-law, an uncle, a cousin, a friend, a coworker, and the list goes on and on.

Our dad was a very generous man and donated to many charities. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations in his name be made to Shriner’s and CHOP. Both of these places have special meaning to him. If you knew our dad, you probably collected “tabs” for him. He NEVER threw away a tab, he collected them for his great-nephew Caiden. Our dad also was very adamant about children’s charities. CHOP took great care of his great-granddaughter Taytum when she was born prematurely.

A service to celebrate our dad’s life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church located at 8504 Frankford Ave. Phila., a viewing will be held from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. A reception will be held at the F.O.P. immediately following mass.
