Mary , a devoted mother to James Hofmann, Margaret (Peggy) Elsekheily and Joseph Hofmann. Mary was predeceased by her four sons, Raymond, Jr., George , Thomas, Michael Hofmann.
Mary Ellen dedicated many years serving as a lunch aide for the School District of Philadelphia. Her time in the schoolyard was not just a job—it was her joy. She cherished each moment spent with the children, nurturing them not just with food but also with her warmth and affection.
Known as one of the most giving individuals, Mary Ellen had a heart as expansive as her smile. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she extended that love freely to friends and strangers alike. To know her was to be welcomed, and no one ever left her presence without being fed—in body and in spirit.
She is survived by her grandchildren Kelly (Dan) Klepas, Patrick (Mandy) Hayes and her great grandchildren, Alex Hayes, Henry Hayes, Jack Hayes, Jocelyn Klepas and Rylie Klepas.Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Presentation BVM Catholic Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA. 19012 followed by her Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
