On September 30, 2025, Frederick “Fred” Beck, age 80, peacefully passed away surrounded by family.
Born on June 23, 1945, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Fred Beck and Lillian (Moore) Beck-Elite. Fred is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Sandra Beck (DeLucca), two sons, Christopher Beck (Joanne) and Steven Beck (fiancé, Brittany Madden); sister, Barbara Beck (Jimmy); and his beloved grandchildren Erick, Brennen, and Jackson.
Fred was the owner of Frederick J. Beck Insurance Agency, was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School, ’63 and Penn State ‘67 where he studied Business Administration/Management and was a member of PKT Fraternity, of which he kept in touch with his fraternity brothers reliving their time at PSU.
During his life, Fred held a number of interesting and rewarding positions, in particular, a Philadelphia Juvenile Probation Officer, Middle School Social Studies Teacher in the Philadelphia school district, Bar Manager/Bartender at the Philadelphia Police Union Hall, and most recently, an Independent Licensed Insurance Agent.
He loved spending days and weeks at the beach, traveling to as many U. S. states as he could. His pass time was spent vacationing at the Jersey Shore where he and Sandy spent time enjoying the many activities at the Atlantic City casinos and cheering for the Phillies and Eagles. However, the best times were those that he spent with his grandsons. His unique sense of humor and unwavering devotion to family will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at John F. Fluehr & Sons, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149. A funeral prayer and blessing will be held at 11:30 am. Fred will be placed to rest, following the prayers at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19150.
