It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carlos Sabino Buford, known to most as "Los" a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, who departed this life on July 16th, 2025 at the age of 66. He is survived by his son Andrew (Samin), mother Dorothy E Buford (nee Evans), brothers Dion and Derek, sister Danielle, long-time partner to Paula Gordon and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His legacy will be carried on by all with love and pride. Carlos was preceded in death by his father Charles S, brothers Michael and Keith.
Carlos' life was a testament to perserverence, love and dignity. His memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of all who knew him. He was an outstanding athlete in his early years. He was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln H.S. He played on the United Junior Soccer League All-Star Team in 1975. In 2018 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Pitt-Johnstown University for Men's Soccer, where he attended and graduated in 1983 with degrees in Political Science and Sociology. For over 20 years he had been working in the pharmaceutical industry, forging his path as an Entrepeneur in quality control and efficacy at various pharmaceutical institutions. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He also had an immense love for animals, especially dogs.
A service remembering Carlos' life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the John F. Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm followed by his memorial service. Family and Friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
