Robert James “Bob / Shab” Scheiblein, of Philadelphia, passed away at his home, on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 73.
Bob, the beloved husband of 41 years to Kathleen (Metzger) Scheiblein, was born in Philadelphia on November 23, 1950, to the late Katherine (Volek) and Samuel Scheiblein.
Bob graduated from Father Judge High School with the class of 1968. After high school, Bob proudly served in the US Army from 1970 to 1976.
While raising a family, Bob was determined to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and went on to do so in 1984 from Spring Garden College.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, camping and his summer vacations in Wildwood, New Jersey, but he was at his happiest when he could watch his Philadelphia Sports teams and spend time with his grandchildren and grand dogs.
Bob, a devoted father to Colleen (Brandt) Kindt, Charles (Jessica) Gallagher, Brian (Melissa) Scheiblein and Marybeth (Shawn) Laukitis. Loving grandfather of 10 and a great grandfather of 5.
He is also survived by his sister, Katherine (the late Timothy) Simpson, his brother Joseph (Marie) Scheiblein as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob’s family will receive guests Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm at John F. Fluehr and Sons Funeral Home 3301 Cottman avenue Philadelphia, PA 19149. Where his memorial service will take place at 3:30 pm.
Casual attire requested.
