Frances T. Hayburn (nee Fee), age 82, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
Fran was the devoted wife of James; loving mother of Theresa M. SSJ, John G. (Teri), Jim, David (Christa), Jean Marie, and Stephen (Cheryl Miller). She was the sister of the late Rita Fee, Catharine Fee, SSJ, and Mary Fee, SSJ. She is also sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Annie, Jimmy, Patrick, Joseph, and Luke of Bowie, MD; Christopher, Nicholas, and Abigail of Philadelphia; and Liana, Jaelynn, and Andrew also of Philadelphia.
The fourth and youngest daughter of John and Rita Fee, she was born on October 3, 1940. She grew up in Our Mother of Sorrows Parish and was a proud graduate of West Catholic Girls’ High School, Class of 1958. She attended Misericordia School of Nursing with a scholarship graduating with her Diploma of Nursing in 1961.
She married Jim Hayburn in 1966 and raised their family in Saint Matthew Parish, Mayfair, Northeast Philadelphia for the next 57 years. Unable to attend Mass in person during the pandemic, she and Jim tuned in by computer every Sunday. It was their only facebook foray!
Fran was a Registered Nurse who worked for over 30 years at Nazareth Hospital. She retired as evening Nursing Supervisor in 2007.
She loved spending time with her family for holidays and especially their week each summer in OCMD. She enjoyed texting with her grandchildren and took great pride in sharing their achievements.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, St. Matthew Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM. Intermnt private.
