Marion Lea Kauffman, beloved wife, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was eighty. Born to Sidney and Mary Kauffan, Marion graduated from Lincoln High School and was then hired to Charles Schober Co on North 2nd street in 1960 where she continued for fifty-one years before retiring. While working she met Robert in 1983 when he delivered a stereo system and turntable to her home. They were together for 39 years.
Marion was an avid thrift and flea market/garage sale bargain hunter. She would go as far as Connecticut or Virginia in circuitous routes to visit her favorite thrift stores. She kept a binder with a list of dates and areas for all the "local" community sales and searched the weekly papers. Marion supported many local charities and individuals in this manner but also more directly. Marion made donations to many churches and Charitable Organizations on a regular basis. She would also bless individuals through purchased meals or clothing donations or even the gifting of a bicycle to a young boy at the local thrift store. She spent the remainder of her time listening to audio books and binge watching her many favorite drama/mystery shows and romance movies.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 25th at 11:00 am at John F. Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19149, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
