Steven Petkovic

Steven Petkovic July 3, 1971 - June 20, 2020

Steven was born to the parents of Sava and Bertha Petkovic (nee Ilijasevich).   Steven leaves behind his brother Daniel Lazovich, sister-in-law Virginia (Ginny), his nephew Michael and nieces Emily and Laura.

Steven graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia. He also participated in music therapy at the Settlement Music School Kardon-Northeast Branch. The music therapy gave him a love for music  Steven had a nice collection of instruments that he enjoyed and continued with his music classes. He would also sing his heart out to any song. He loved the Beach Boys, Elvis and Michael Bolton!  Though the real love of his life was his competing in the Special Olympics, whether it was bowling, softball throwing or running, Steven always gave it his best.  He achieved over a hundred different medals and awards for his participation in the different areas of competition. Steven also, loved to travel. He loved going on cruises, and traveling to Gracelandas well as the Grand Canyon, Puerto Rico and Las Vegas.

Another favorite past time of Steven’s was going to see movies with his brother Dan and nephew Michael, it was always some type of an action flick that included pretzel bites and cheese or going to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. He enjoyed visiting over the weekends for a barbeque, a family dinner or for all the holidays throughout the year. He was always helpful one way or another, either helping his brother with construction projects in the house or by setting the table for dinner. Steven always had conversations about what he did the week before, especially at his job at Taco Bell. It was always a joy to have him with us  Steven will be deeply missed.

Due to the safety concerns, there will not be services but a memorial service will be held at a later date. In honor of Steven’s memory donations can be sent to:
