Kathleen F. Godfrey, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 15, 2021.
Kathleen was the devoted wife of Thomas Godfrey since his sudden passing in 1983. She was the loving mother of Chris Godfrey (Shannon) and Diana Karaboyas (Anthony, Sr.); proud grandmother of Kylar, Kaitlyn, AJ, Tommy, Logan and Maverick. Kathleen was predeceased by her sister Eileen Powell and is survived by her three brothers George (late Sandra), Michael (Mary Jane), and Sean (Eileen) along with many extended family members and friends.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and volunteer work. She served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a proud patriot. In her later years she enjoyed participating with the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 25 and worked with the USO, providing meals for troops while they were traveling. Kathy was also a lover of country music, enjoyed attending concerts and will forever be Garth Brooks’s number one fan.
Relatives and friends are asked to attend her viewing on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at John F. Fluehr & Sons 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149 from 6-8pm. A viewing will also take place at St. Matthew Church 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149 on Thursday July 22, 2021 from 9:15-10:15am. A funeral mass will follow starting at 10:30am; interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
